ParalympicChallenge

To emphasize the great social importance of disability sports and share the fascination for them with a wider audience, Otto Bock is now dedicated more than ever to following its longstanding commitment of promoting popular sports and athletics. We have been the official service provider for all the summer and winter Paralympics since Seoul 1988.

Our team of qualified orthopedic technicians provides athletes with top-quality services free of charge. Otto Bock has gathered an extraordinary amount of experience and expertise in technical sports services through its longstanding commitment in this field. The global organization of the MedTech company provides an existing infrastructure to help reduce costly and time-consuming logistics. The athletes profit from an international team of technicians who offer technical expertise as well as language and cultural skills.

Second only to the Paralympic games, the FESPIC Games are the largest international event in disability sports. The games are held approximately every four years on an irregular basis. Ever since the 1994 games in Beijing, Otto Bock has been providing technical services for FESPIC athletes: 1994 in Beijing, China (2,081 athletes from 42 nations), 1999 in Bangkok, Thailand (2,258 athletes from 34 countries) and 2002 in Pusan, South Korea (2,520 athletes from 43 countries).

A team of Otto Bock service technicians also provides free services to athletes at the World Athletic Championships (1994 in Berlin, 1998 in Birmingham and 2002 in Lille), European Championships (last held in 2005 in Espoo, Finland) and the German championships.
